Police discover a cannabis factory on a quiet residential street in Cardiff

A huge cannabis factory has been discovered in a house on a quiet residential street in Cardiff. South Wales Police officers executed a warrant at a property on Bangor Street in Roath on Thursday May 19 and found hundreds of plants inside.

A total of 239 cannabis plants were discovered growing in multiple rooms. Klajdi Muca, a 22 year old man from Roath was arrested and charged with producing a controlled drug after the bust.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: “On Thursday May 21, South Wales Police executed a warrant at a residential property in Bangor Street. A man was arrested and 239 plants of cannabis were being grown in several rooms. Klajdi Muca, 22, from Roath, has been charged with production of a controlled drug and was due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court today.”

Cathays Neighborhood Police Sergeant Huw Taylor posted the results of the arrest on Twitter, writing: “The Cathays Neighborhood Police Team with the Tactical Support Team successfully executed a warrant this morning at a residential property where a man was arrested. Community intelligence, warrant executed, drugs off our street.”

In April, more than 2,700 cannabis plants were discovered growing in a former sports and social club on Broadway, with 820 kg of plants removed from the property and destroyed. Days earlier, more than 140 plants had been discovered at a rented property at Ty-To-Maen Close in old St Mellons.

Less than two weeks ago, a huge bag of cannabis was discovered in a car following a stop in Trowbridge. The driver failed a drug test and was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and impaired driving. You can read more about it here.
